Dakota Selects Competitive Structure

Our goal is to field teams at each age. Based on numbers and competitiveness age groups could be combined. 

  • College Series Tournaments: Tournament games that bring players to college campuses and near by facilities. 

  • Kernal's Foundation Team: Top players from across the state will be invited to participate in the Kernals Foundation Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA. 

  • North National — Top players from 4 Programs ( Dakota Selects, Pitch2Pitch, 3T's, Iowa Prospects, and Sioux Falls Skeeters) will have the opportunity to compete in the Prep Baseball Report Fall Club Championship and Perfect Game World Series in Jupiter, FL. Evaluations will be conducted at the College Series - Sioux Falls on August 14 - 16. Players MUST be part of either the College Series teams or the Kernal Foundation Team to be eligible for this team.

Key Highlights

  • Player Development Focus - Players will be evaluated through Full Swing Technology to help guide parents an avenue on which areas need improvement.

  • College Series Tournaments — Gives players an opportunity to play in front of colleges across the region

  • All-Star Opportunities — top performers earn a chance to compete at a national level


Tryouts:

Dakota Selects Baseball is excited to announce tryouts for the 2026 fall season. Players should attend the tryout location that best fits their region, but may attend either session if needed. Age groups are based on the 2027 Age Chart.

Tryouts will include evaluations in hitting, fielding, throwing, running, and pitching. Players should arrive at least 20 minutes early for check-in and warm-up. Please bring all necessary baseball equipment, including glove, bat, helmet, cleats/turf shoes, and water bottle. Catchers should bring full gear.

Dakota Selects West Tryout (Bismarck)

Date: Thursday, June 25
Location & Time: Sanford Sports Complex (3406 East Calgary Ave)
  • Ages 11-13: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Ages 14-15: 12:00 – 1:30 PM
  • Ages 16-18: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM


Dakota Selects East Tryout (Fargo)

Date: Tuesday, June 30
Location & Time: Fargo Parks Sports Complex (6100 38th St S)
  • Ages 15-18: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Ages 11-12: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Ages 13-14: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Important for Pitchers:

If you are a pitcher and are not eligible to throw at tryouts due to rest requirements under MLB Pitch Smart Guidelines, please email a game video (if available) to:

This includes pitchers who:

  • Have thrown in the days leading up to tryouts and require rest

  • Are scheduled to pitch in a game shortly after tryouts and need to remain on rest

We want to make sure you're evaluated fairly without risking arm health.



Registration Fee's

  • Estimated Cost $ 1,600 - $2,000 (Includes: 4 Tournaments, Uniform, Player Development Year-Round Program, Team Equipment, Field Rental, and coaches' salary and travel.)

  • Additional Programing -- For any player that is interested in participating in Sanford Performance Training additional fee's will apply

  • Fundraising Opportunities to offset costs -- Fundraising Drive, Sponsor a Player Opportunities, Diamond Allegiance Scholarship Program (Must qualify)
